How Do You Promote an Event for Your Hostel?
Someone scrolls your hostel's Reels feed on a night bus with the volume down. Your pub crawl or rooftop party invite has to say everything without sound: the date, the door, the price if there is one. Show the common room filling up, not an empty poster. Put the address in text on screen by the second cut, because a backpacker deciding tonight won't wait for narration to explain where to walk. The studio builds the spot around what's readable muted first, then adds voice and music as a layer on top for anyone with headphones in.

Sell the social night and the practical facts together
Two messages work for a hostel: something happening tonight, and the details that settle it. Show the walking tour, the rooftop, the pasta night, then hold three lines: price per night, distance to the station, and whether breakfast or lockers are free. If you run a long-stay or low-season rate, state the nights and the number. Close with “Book direct” and your site rather than sending people back to a booking platform.

From the room to the RSVP card
Open with movement from the venue: a crowded stall, a stage being set, a table laid. Between three and ten seconds, show what actually happens there, one shot per thing, with a short label on each. From ten seconds, hold the details card: date, start time, street address and price or free entry. Keep that card on screen for at least three seconds, because that is the frame people screenshot.
Make an Event Invitation Video With the Date, the Address and a Clear RSVPA brief you can paste
Paste this into the studio chat, or change the names and numbers first.
A 15-second vertical video for our hostel's Friday rooftop party. Open on string lights and people arriving with drinks, then a quick shot of the bar setup, then the crowd from above. On-screen text: FRIDAY ROOFTOP PARTY, free entry before 9pm, our address. Upbeat music, cuts on the beat. Short casual narration as a backup layer, not the main message. End card with the hostel name and a save-the-date icon.
Questions people ask
Does the RSVP need to be spoken or can it just be text?
Text. Most viewers have sound off, so the date, address and any RSVP link or door policy go on screen as captions, not narration. Narration can repeat it, but the video has to work with the volume down.
What ratio works best for a hostel event on Instagram and the map listings?
9:16 for Stories and Reels, 1:1 for feed and hostel-finder map listings where square thumbnails show better. Both can come from the same brief as separate versions, and the second one costs less.
